This 1953-1954 Ford dash speaker is a 6"x9" dual voice coil speaker that has two tweeters on it. One tweeter will handle the left channel while the other will handle the right channel in order t provide you with stereo sound from a single, mono location. This is the 1953-1954 Ford dash speaker that we recommend for most applications. The dual voice coil speaker has more cone surface area to provide better mid-range response than the dual dash mount speakers. On the dual dash mount speakers, including the Kenwood, the center of plate is not creating any midrange sound whereas on the dual voice coil speaker it is. This 1953-1954 Ford dual voice coil speaker has 4 wire connections on the back, (+) & (-) for the left channel, and (+) & (-) for the right channel.
If you have an original, 8 Ohm or 10 Ohm radio, this speaker will not work. You must use this speaker with radios designed for 4 ohm applications.
