Radio:
For the radio, all our options will fit in your original dash location without any cutting or modifying. The USA-230 in an AM/FM radio with an auxiliary input. The USA-630 has all the features of the USA-230, but also adds a USB port, the ability to add Bluetooth, and the ability to add an external CD player. The USA-740 has Bluetooth built in, it has an AM/FM tuner, aux input, USB, you can add a CD player, and it has a subwoofer pre-out that the USA-230 and USA-630 do not have. In addition, the USA-740 allows you to change the color of the LCD display between 7 different pre-set color options.
Speakers:
With this kit, the speakers in the kick panels are Rockford 5.25" 2-way coaxial speakers and you get 4-way 6x9's for the back. Most of our kick panels come with 6.5" speakers, but Rockford's 6.5" is too big to fit in the cutout and too deep. The 5.25" speaker is actually oversized, and the cone diameter is very close to the cone of most 6.5" speakers. The difference in mid-bass response will be negligible versus a 6.5" speaker. Plus, factor in the 6x9's in the rear, and if you add a subwoofer, you won't notice the difference. The 4-way 6x9's for the rear are our bestselling 6x9 speakers are they are efficient, playing loud and bright for that legendary Rockford sound. One of the other benefits of this package versus some of the others is the speaker grilles. The speaker grilles that come with the kick panel speakers and the 6x9's are very simple with a standard, black mesh pattern and a very small Rockford logo.
Amplifier:
We offer both 4 channel and 5 channel amplifiers in this kit. The 4 channel amps will be used if you are not adding a subwoofer. If you want to add a sub to fill out the bottom end, we recommend going with a 5-channel amplifier.
The Rockford Fosgate Punch PBR400x4d is one of our most popular amplifiers. It is a very small amplifier that delivers the power output you need for crystal clear, clean highs and mids. This amp is rated at 50 watts per channel at 4 ohms but, it will exceed that, making it a perfect match for the front and rear speakers. The PBR400x4d features LED clipping indicators so that you can perfectly set the gains without input or output distortion and it accepts both high- and low-level inputs so that you can run speaker wire directly to the amp. The small chassis allows you to mount it virtually anywhere, the power output ensures you can turn up the music and it will still sound good while playing over exhaust and wind noise.
The Rockford Fosgate T400x4ad puts out 100 watts per channel at 4 ohm and features a constant power circuit, and CLEAN setup so that you can set your gains perfectly. This amp is very similar to the PBR400x4d, but just has twice the power output and it has a constant power circuit which will simply sound better as it ensures you get 100 watts of power regardless of impedance.
For the 5 channel amplifier options, we offer a Rockford Fosgate Prime 600-watt 5 channel amplifier, as well as a Power Mini 1000-watt 5 channel. The Prime 600 watt is probably enough for most customers that just want something that is going to sound good and better than a "premium" sound system in a new car. The Rockford Power mini is for the customer that wants the best and may want a little more bass output. The 1000-watt Power Mini is basically the 400-watt 4 channel amp listed above, but with a 600-watt subwoofer channel added inside. The 1000 watt has the constant power circuit and you will hear a difference versus the 600 watt, but it is more expensive. If you like bass, go with the 1000 power mini and one of the upgraded subwoofer enclosures and you will not be disappointed. Our owner has the 1000-watt Power Mini is his daily driver.
Subwoofer:
If you opt to add a subwoofer to your kit, we offer the Rockford Prime R2 10" low profile enclosure, the Audison Prima low profile, 10" enclosure, and the Rockford T1 Shallow enclosure. The right sub for you will depend on how much bass you like, and what type of music you listen to. You can always turn the bass down, but itβs more expensive to add bass after the fact. The Prime will work for most customers to fill in that bottom end and give you a home theater quality sound. If you want a little more, go with the Audison enclosure. The Audison is a super compact woofer, but with fantastic output. If you love Rockford and you want bass, but you still want to have room in your trunk, pay up and get the 10" T1 Shallow. Two of our employees have the T1 shallow in their daily driver and we love it.
