This is Lavell Hall's "Little Red Corvette" "Josephine" that was purchased in Denver, North Carolina in 1998 by Cross Member Joe Morris. Morris then sold the 1963 Chevrolet Corvette to Hall in November 2018 where Hall has owned it until this day.
The Corvette no longer has its original drivetrain, but it does boast a small block General Motors 350 mate to a manual 5-speed Tremec transmission, with a new 373 rear end. There have been some additional restorations on the '63 Corvette. In a recent "frame-off" restoration, a new 330 HP power crate engine was added. Additionally, the updates included new front and rear suspensions, new wiring systems throughout, a quartz clock conversion, a Bluetooth compatible stereo system, vintage air conditioning, disc breaks, electrical ignition, fuel injection, and a new Flowmaster Delta Flow 40 series exhaust system.
The frame-off restoration was completed in sixteen months by David Gilbert of Hickory, North Carolina on July 10th, 2020.
The red exterior, matched with the traditional black interior, makes for a stunning and traditional Corvette presentation. Stock turbine Kelsey Hayes wheels with knock-off spinners on Maxxis 205 70R 15 white-wall tires tie in a period-correct stock-look for this restomod Corvette. The iconic "split window" design makes this rare beauty a very desirable piece of Chevrolet history. Few would argue that the '63 is the most coveted and sought after model of the second-generation Corvettes. Hall realizes how fortunate he is to e the care-taker of "Josephine" and her "split-personality". According to Hall, she is definitely THE original American idol.
