Description
A dual dash speaker with incredible sound quality and less resistance. This speaker plays louder and with more clarity than all other dash speakers.

Our BLAM dual dash mount 6x9 speaker is a 6x9 plate that has two, 4-inch BLAM Relax series speaker mounted to it to deliver stereo sound from a single speaker location. These 4 inch speakers come with silk dome tweeters and product a rich, warm, and balanced sound profile that will play loud, without sounding harsh.

2 Ohm Speakers

What sets these speakers apart from the other premium dual dash mount speakers is that these speakers have 2 ohm voice coils. Most car audio speakers have 4 ohm voice coils. The two ohms instead of 4 ohms means that your amplifier puts out more power to these speakers than it would to 4 ohm speakers. Since more power means more volume and better clarity, these speakers play louder and play with more clarity than virtually all of the other speakers.

Silk Dome Tweeters

Silk dome tweeters are used in speakers because they deliver a rich, warm, balanced sound profile that doesn't sound harsh. While many car speakers use hard materials for the tweeters, silk dome tweeters are usually found in higher end speakers that can handle more power. These speakers are very efficient for 4 inch speakers with a sensitivity rating of 85dB @ 1W/1m.

The Math Behind 2 Ohms vs. 4 Ohms

Doubles the power output of your USA-740 radio Most amplifiers put out more power at 2 ohms than they do at 4 ohms. For example, we will use the Rockford Fosgate PBR400X4D. This amplifier is rated at 50 watts per channel at 4 ohms. It is rated at 100 watts per channel at 2 ohms. So, with virtually every other dash speaker, you get 50 watts per channel. With this BLAM dash speaker, you are getting 100 watts per channel. You get more power from your amplifier and that power is going to a higher quality, better speaker.

What is BLAM?

BLAM stands for Bonneville Labs And More. Guy Bonneville is the president of BLAM and he was the head of the car audio division at Focal. Focal is widely recognized as making some of the best sounding car audio speakers. When FOCAL was bought out, he didn't necessarily want to stick with the new group, so he continued his work with his own company and called it BLAM. BLAM is known for delivering "The French Sound." When Hi-Fi came to be, different regions had different tastes in music. The French really gravitated toward vocal clarity with their high fidelity speakers and Guy Bonneville has set out to deliver "The French Sound" for vehicles.

Works with 2 Ohm Stable Amplifiers and USA-740

This speaker will work with virtually any amplifier and with the USA-740. You can use this speaker with the USA-230, USA-630, Slidebar, or OE Replica radios, but you must use an amplifier. If you have the USA-740, you can wire this speaker directly up to the USA-740 because it is 2 ohm stable. If your amplifier has a power rating at 2 ohms, your amplifier is 2 ohm stable. Virtually all of the amplifiers we sell are 2 ohm stable. If you don't know, shoot us an email or give us a call and we can help you.
