This JL Audio 10W0 subwoofer package includes a 10-inch 10W0v3-4 subwoofer and a JL Audio monoblock amplifier. We also include an amp wiring kit with an RCA cable and 15 feet of 12 AWG speaker wire. With the default setup, the 10W0v3-4 will receive 150 watts of RMS power from the JD250/1 amplifier, but you have the option to upgrade the amp using the drop downs above.
The JL Audio W0 woofer has long been the gold standard for the entry-level, affordable woofer class. For the money, these woofers are as good as it gets. They are overbuilt, they handle the power they say they will, they hit hard, and the sound good. If you are looking for an affordable, work horse woofer, the JL Audio W0 is perfect.
This kit comes standard with the JL Audio JD250/1 monoblock amplifier. The JD250/1 puts out 150 watts RMS at 4 ohms. This fits within the recommended power range from JL Audio. The JD250/1 will do the trick, but we recommend upgrading to the JD500/1 or the RD500/1. The extra power for the money is worth it and you get 250 watts at 4 ohms instead of 150 watts. The JD250/1 will work great the day you install it, but as you listen to different songs and your ears adjust, you may find yourself wanting a little more bass. It's cheaper and easier to spend the money now than having to buy another amplifier down the road. And, you can always turn the bass down, but turning the bass up without distortion usually requires more power.
We include an amp wiring kit and 15 feet of 12 AWG speaker wire with this subwoofer kit. If you select the JD250/1 amplifier we include an 8 AWG amp wiring. If you choose to upgrade to the JD500/1, we include a 4 AWG amp wiring kit. Both kits include an RCA cable. The wire in both the amp kits and the speaker wire is 100% pure oxygen-free copper to ensure you get maximum power from your amp and output from your subwoofer.
The wiring for this subwoofer is straightforward. Positive off of the amp to the positive terminal on the woofer. Same thing for the negative side.
We recommend adding the RBC-1 bass knob which allows you to quickly and easily adjust the subwoofer level without fumbling with your radio. No two songs are recorded the same. Some songs have a ton of bass in the mix while others have very little. Adding a bass knob allows you to optimize the bass output to your personal preference and also allows you to quickly turn down the bass if you hear distortion on a song with "too much bass".
