This JL Audio 10W3 subwoofer package includes a single 10" W3v3-2 subwoofer and your choice of JL Audio monoblock amplifier. With this setup, the 10" W3 woofer is wired to the amp to a 2 ohm load.. JL Audio recommends between 150-500 watts of RMS power.
The JL Audio W3 subwoofers are in their third generation and have long been that middle ground staple with serious output, but not crazy like the W6 and W7. The JL Audio W3 woofers use many of the same technologies uses in the W6 and W7 for maximum excrusion and minimal distortion. These woofers just are reliable, they can handle enough power for serious output without straining, and they just sound good. The JL Audio W3 is the perfect woofer for the discerning customer that wants more than the W0 or W1, yet isn't going to spend $600+ per woofer for a W6 or W7.
With this subwoofer kit, we allow you to choose between several different amplifier options depending on your budget and desired outcome. All of the amplifier options will provide plenty of power for the 10 inch W3 subwoofer. The more expensive amplifiers put out more power and sound better because they use better internal components. With JL Audio monoblock amplifiers, you get what you pay for. Please note, that if you opt for the XD600/1v2, you will need to make sure that you do not turn the gain up all the way. The XD600/1v2 is rated at 600 watts at 2 ohms. This is more than the 10W3v3-2 can handle and you may risk voiding your warranty. There are no bad options here, some are just better than others. The lowest cost JD500/1 will still sound great.
We include a 4 AWG amp wiring kit with a 17 ft RCA cable and 15 feet of 12 AWG speaker wire. The wire used for both the amp kit and the speaker wire is 100% oxygen free copper to ensure maximum output and performance from both your amplifier and subwoofer. It doesn't make sense to spend the money for high quality, JL Audio components only to go cheap on the wire and starve your amplifier. This is the good stuff.
Wiring this subwoofer is straightforward. Positive from the amp goes to postive on the subwoofer and repeat for the negative terminals.
