JL Audio 12W3v3-2 with JD500/1 500 WattD Subwoofer Kit

This JL Audio 12W3 subwoofer package includes a single 12" W3v3-2 subwoofer and the JL Audio JD500/1D amplifier. With this setup, the 12" W3 woofer will receive 500 watts of RMS power from the amplifier as the subwoofer has a single 2 ohm voice coil. JL Audio recommends between 150-500 watts of RMS power. Since this amp will put out the full 500 watts of RMS power, we are safely within the range that JL recommends without voiding the warranty, while maximizing the power and sub-bass output.

The JL Audio W3 subwoofers are in their third generation and have long been that middle ground staple with serious output, but not crazy like the W6 and W7. The JL Audio W3 woofers use many of the same technologies uses in the W6 and W7 for maximum excrusion and minimal distortion. These woofers just are reliable, they can handle enough power for serious output without straining, and they just sound good. Wiring this subwoofer is straightforward. Positive from the amp goes to postive on the subwoofer and repeat for the negative terminals.
