This JL Audio 15W0 subwoofer package includes one 15" W0v3-4 subwoofer and the JL Audio JD250/1D amplifier. With this setup, the 15W0v3-4 will receive 250 watts of RMS power from the amplifier. JL recommends 150-500 watts of RMS power for the 15W0 so
the amp falls within that power range. The JL Audio JD500/1D is rated at 500 watts RMS at 2 ohms and 250 watts at 4 ohms. Since the W0 is a single, 4 ohm voice coil and the amp will put out 250 watts of RMS power.
The JL Audio W0 woofer has long been the gold standard for the entry-level, affordable woofer class. For the money, these woofers are as good as it gets. They are overbuilt, they handle the power they say they will, they hit hard, and the sound good. If you are looking
for an affordable, work horse woofer, the JL Audio W0 is perfect.
The JD series of JL Audio amplifiers offer great value, an affordable price, and the quality and reliability that you expect from a JL Audio amplifier. The JX series amplifiers are overbuilt and designed to provide superior sub-bass response.
The wiring diagram for this package is straight forward. Wire positive from the amp to positive on the woofer. Repeat for the negative terminal. While the JX500/1D is supplying enough power for the subwoofer, if you want to maximize output, you can check out the package
with the JD1000/1D or the RD1000/1. They are a little bit more expensive, but we feel getting toward the upper end of the recommended RMS power handling range is worth the extra money.
