The Kicker Comp 43C154 subwoofers allow you to add bass to your stereo system at an affordable price point. The Comp subwoofers don't handle a ton of power and are perfect if you are on a budget and this is the first subwoofer you have put in your vehicle. This 12" subwoofer can handle 250 watts of RMS power and has a single, 4 ohm voice coil. The 43C154 has Kicker's raised spoke subwoofer cone for increased rigidity and it also produces a distinctive knock sound when if you get distortion. If we are being completely transparent, we recommend the CompC subwoofers ofer the Comp. The pricing is virtually the same, the CompC can handle more power, the cone shape sounds better, and they are available in both single and dual voice coils for more flexility with impedance.
It is important to note that the Comp subwoofer are only available in a single 4 ohm voice coil. This means, if you are only running 1 subwoofer, you need to check the 4 ohm output of your amplifier. Most amps state their power at 1 or 2 ohms. So even though this subwoofer is rated at 150 watts, you will probably need a "500 watt amplifier," to give this subwoofer enough power. If you step up to the CompC, that same 500 watt amplifier will put out the 500 watts that you are paying for.
