The Kicker 50CVX124 12 inch, CompVX subwoofer can handle 750 watts RMS and has dual, 4 ohm voice coils. The Kicker CompVX subwoofers are designed to handle serious power and just slam. These subwoofers work in both sealed and ported enclosures and feature Kicker's raised spoke cone for increased surface area and rigidity. The CompVX is perfect if you are looking for a serious woofer, that can handle serious power, but without breaking the bank.
The CompVX can handle more power than the CompR and the only real comparison is the CompQ. If we are being completely honest though, the CompQ is worth the extra money as it can hanlde more power, and they just sound better. If you are in the price range for the CompVX, you are probably in the price range for CompQ. Go with the CompQ.
The dual 4 ohm voice coils are perfect for running a single subwoofer at 2 ohms, a pair of subwoofers at 1 ohm, 3 subwoofers at 2.6 ohms, or 4 subwoofers at 2 ohms. Make sure to check the power ratings on your amplifier to ensure that your amp is 1 ohm or 2 ohm stable.
For amplifiers, we like the CX800.1 or the KX800.1 to power 1 subwoofer, and either the CX1800.1, the KX1600.1 to power 2 subwoofers. If you are powering 3 subs you can go with the KX2400.1, but if running more than 3 of these, you should run mulitple amplifiers.
