The Morel Tempo Ultra 1964 Impala & Caprice dual dash speaker is a high-end, premium dash speaker that works best when powered with an amplifier. Morel speakers are built for sound quality and use a point source, silk-dome tweeter for smooth, rich, warm, and balanced output. The point-source tweeter design means that the tweeter and the woofer cone share the same chassis. Since the tweeter sits at roughly the same level as the speaker cone these speakers reproduce a constant and coherent sound field for a correct phase and improved time-alignment.
In addition to the sound quality aspects, this 1964 Impala and Caprice dash speaker can handle more power than most dual dash speakers. Each 4" Morel speaker can handle 60 watts RMS and 140 watts Peak. When powering these speakers with an amplifier, you are able to drive these speakers with more power. More power means improved clarity for a superior sound experience.
This dash speaker will fit in the original dash location and includes the metal bracket. You get stereo sound from a single speaker location.
You can pair these with a pair of Morel 6x9s for the rear or you check out the Morel Virtus Nano Carbon Integra 6.5" speakers which are incredibly thin and will allow you to install speakers in your door panels, kick panels, or anywhere else you may be able to fit a 6.5" speaker.
We 100% recommend that you power these speakers with an amplifier. You should not run these speakers without an amplifier. If you aren't planning on using an amplifier and instead plan to run your speakers directly off of the readio, there are less expensive options (like the Kicker CS, Hertz Dieci, or Rockford Fosgate) that will save you money and sound better for a radio-powered system. In order to reap the benefit of these premium speakers, you need the additional power you get from an amplifier.
The right amplifier will depend on whether or not you are adding a subwoofer.
If you are not adding a subwoofer, we recommend a 4 channel amplifier and they are all going to sound really nice.
