The Rockford Fosgate P3 12 inch subwoofer hammers. This is one of our favorite subwoofers because it can handle 600 watts RMS, it hits really hard, and it's a great value. When you compare the output, the power handling, and the price point, it is tough to find a better subwoofer. Before Rockford Fosgate came out with their 19" T3 ultra woofers, Rockford used the P3 subwoofers in all of their demo vehicles. This subwoofer hammers!

Rockford Fosgate Monoblock Subwoofer Amp

We offer 3 different amplifier choices to power the 12" P3 subwoofer. All the amplifier choices will provide plenty of power for the subwoofer. It comes down the budget and space. There are two full-sized amplifiers with the R2-750X1 and the P500X1bd and one mini amp, the T750X1bd.

The default option is the Rockford Fosgate R2-750X1, 750 watt mono amp. This amp will put out 750W x 1 RMS at 1 ohm, comes with a bass knob included, and comes with LED clipping indicators that help you optimize your gain settings without clipping.

The Rockford Fosgate P500X1bd is rated at 500W x 1 at 1 ohm, but has a dynamic rating over 700W x 1 @ 1 ohm. The dynamic rating is the best representation of the actual output when listening to music. The P500X1bd comes with LED clipping indicators and has better internal components and efficiency than the R2-750X1.

The last option is the Rockford Fosgate Power Mini T750X1bd. This is a mini amp that delivers full-size power. The T750X1bd is rated at 750W x 1 RMS @ 1 ohm and a dynamic rating close to 900W x 1 @ 1 ohm. We recommend using this amplifier if you are limited on space. While the T750X1bd puts out alot of power, you are paying a premium because of the compact chassis and it has less surface area to dissipate heat. If you have the room for the R2-750X1 or the P500X1bd, we recommend those over this amp.

Amp Wiring Kit + Speaker Wire Included

We include a 4 AWG amp wiring kit and 15 feet of 12 AWG speaker wire. The wire used for both the amp wiring kit and the speaker wire is 100% oxygen free copper. This is the good stuff. It doesn't make sense to spend the money on Rockford Fosgate components only to to starve them with cheap, copper-coated aluminum wire. Using 100% OFC copper wire ensures maximum output from both your amplifier and the subwoofer.

Wire the Subwoofer in Parallel to a 1 Ohm Load

The Rockford Fosgate P3D2-12 is a 2 ohm, dual voice coil subwoofer. Both voice coils need to be powered, so you treat it like it is two speakers in one. You will want to wire the subwoofer in parallel to a 1 ohm load. Please see the diagram below
