Nick Stuckey's pickup is a 1978 Chevrolet C10 Big 10.
The truck was originally purchased and used by his grandfather in 1980 as his farm truck in eastern Washington state. In 2002 the truck was left in a field on the farm when the electrical issues with the pickup became too much to deal with. Around 2010, Stuckey's grandfather started hauling abandoned farm trucks and machinery to the scrap yard. Some of this equipment dated back to the 1920's. Stuckey took on the initiative to convince him to save the '78 C10. When Stuckey's grandfather passed away in 2016, Stuckey made the decision he was going to restore it. At that point, the truck had been sitting for almost 15 years and Stuckey recalled it was in very rough shape. The truck had accumulated, rust, mouse nests, and more that Stuckey had to deal with before beginning the restoration.
When the renovations started, Stuckey put in a new 350 crate motor and carburetor. Stuckey also outfitted the pickup with some new wheels, tires, exhaust, fuel tank, brakes, wiring harness. The interior of the truck was also renovated with an all-new interior that included all the dashboard switches and new paint.
Stuckey has some favorite memories with the pickup from his past. He remembers driving in the truck on his grandfather's lap at a young age and eventually driving around himself in the wheat fields of the farm at the early age of 8!
The memories are coming full circle as Stuckey now gives his 1-year-old daughter rides on his lap in the C10 Pickup.
Stuckey closed by letting us know that this truck specifically inspired his passion for old vehicles. He's thrilled daily to still be driving it, including his trip to work this morning!
